Each of our switchable panels requires a transformer to power the unit. The commercial transformer is rated at 240V input / 65V AC output, and must be installed by a licensed technician. During installation, the transformer is connected to the two wires extending from the switchable glass panel, and then wired into the main electrical supply.

For optimal performance and longevity of the switchable film, it is recommended to use an external timer that switches the panel off for at least 4 hours every 24 hours. When powered off, the panel returns to its default frosted (opaque) state. This timer can be supplied by your electrician.

It is important not to exceed the maximum square metre area of 5.5m2 per transformer. The typical allowance is 1 transformer per switchable panel, this will provide the ultimate in performance.

The commercial transformer must remain accessible, as it contains a replaceable circuit
breaker fuse within the housing. The commercial transformer comes with a 3 wire for earthing to the Poaluminium frame.
